About The Event
Classical concert pianist, Constantine Finehouse, has developed an intimate relationship with the music of Johannes Brahms (1833-1897) over the past two decades of his performing and recording career. He has presented the composer's works at Carnegie Hall (NYC), Mozarteum (Salzburg), and at numerous other venues from Saint-Petersburg, FL to Saint-Petersburg, Russia.
This present program is the first in a series of three all-Brahms piano recitals, featuring the complete shorter piano works. The title, “Rebirth of the Greatest”, alludes to Brahms' return to composing for the piano after a 15-year-long hiatus with Piano Pieces Op. 76, inspired by the musical spirit of Schumann and Chopin. Also featured will be the sublime Piano Pieces Op. 118 and 119, Brahms' final and, arguably, loftiest statements in this genre.
